Solo in California
March 10, 2018 - March 17, 2018

Imperial Beach: March 10-12
I will start my solo trip by driving 800 miles from Moab to Imperial Beach, the southernmost beach city on the West Coast. A Southern California trip would not be complete without visiting my cousin who lives here.

Oakland: March 12
My late grandfather lived most of his life in the Bay area and some of my fondest memories are of visits spent with him. Jack London Square, San Francisco Bay Ferry, Fisherman’s Wharf, and the Oakland Zoo are regular stops while in this area.

Walnut Creek: March 13
This will be my first time visiting Walnut Creek, and a new friend who lives here, so I don’t know what’s on the itinerary. No matter what we end up doing, the beautiful Mount Diablo will set the scene.

Pasadena: March 13-15
Even though I will be missing the Rose Bowl and the Rose Parade (held in January each year), Pasadena is where I get to meet up with one of my closest and dearest friends, Shelley. She is flying in from Hawaii.

Riverside: March 15-16
Riverside is one of my favorite winter destinations due to the Festival of Lights held at the Mission Inn each year. After my first stay in their charming accommodations during the summer of 2014, I find myself returning over and over again to enjoy the beauty and ambiance this area provides.

Los Angeles: March 16-17
During this trip I will have the opportunity to meet up with another friend who lives in Los Angeles. I’ve decided to be adventurous with food and am going to attempt Ethiopian food while in the city of angels.

Fontana: March 17
On my drive home from Southern California I always stop to visit my great grandparents in Fontanta. Their house has character and reminds me of all the lives and events that have filled that space with love over the years.
